Hey friends! So our little dude is 6 Months Old! My oh my this little guy is changing by the minute. I am so proud to be his mama. This little boy brings so much joy to my life. Things are great in our life at the moment. We are getting into a routine. I feel like things are way better than they were even a month ago. I Love routines and I love the feeling of being so happy at this very moment. Anxiety is a rough thing to experience, so I am over the moon that things are much much better. Anders is such a perfect little baby though...I am not making things up when I say that. Lol. I am so blessed and so very Thankful that he is our best baby yet. God is good <3 Anyways here's the update. Also keep a look out on our youtube channel as we are planning on uploading more family video's. The Madsen Fam **Also I wrote up this update before he turned 6 months (September 23rd)...however I took the pictures just yesterday (October 22rd) lol. So he is actually almost 7 Months in the pictures...but still counts as 6 I guess. Kinda sad I didn't get his one last picture before we buzzed his hair. Oh well. Busy mom life. Hopefully I step up my game and get more organized.**** At 6 Months Old... Weight & Length- He sits at just under 15lbs :) not sure his length. Sizes- Anders is in size 12-18M Clothes (Although he could still fit in some 6-12M) He seems to be slowing down a lot in his weight now. He is in size 4 diapers. He is still in cloth diapers during the day and when we are home (disposables at night & when we go out). Routine- He has a pretty good routine. I do want to make it even better though so I am working on his night time routine at the moment. 7-8am he starts his day. I nurse him and he stays awake for about 1-1.5 hours. I put him in his sleep sack in his crib and he falls asleep after about 10 minutes of laying there (sometimes crying until he self soothes with sucking his thumb) I have been trying to take the boys to parent link so I'd like to work on waking him up at 7am putting him for his first nap at 8 and then taking them to parent link (indoor play programs) for 9:30/10am. After waking from his first nap he stays awake for about 2 hours...naps for 1-2 hours then repeats this for the rest of the day. He is ready for bed around 8pm but this one is a trick one as he likes to be nursed to sleep and this time is his most fussy time...it takes me some convincing to get him to sleep and to get him to realize that he's tired. I have been nursing him to sleep on our bed...letting him sleep there until I go to sleep around 10-11pm then when I go to sleep I nurse him again and then put him in his crib. But this needs to change (as he is rolling all over the place now and this can be dangerous for him) Sleeping- This baby loves his sleep. He is still not the greatest napper (although he does nap about every 2 hours during the day) he sleeps from 8pm (1 dream feed around 11) until 8am (I've even had to wake him up at 9:30am once) So blessed. So Thankful. Eating- He has been Exclusively breastfed. Although these past few weeks we have been giving him a taste of what we may be eating here and there and he seems to love that. Last night I gave him some organic rice cereal mixed with water & mashed up banana and he devoured it. Feeding this baby solids is going to be so much fun. We have also been practicing giving him cheerios & those little puff thingy's (so he could practice grabbing them) Yesterday he also enjoyed an arrowroot cookie and LOVED that. But it's time to start whipping up some yummy homecooked creations for this baby. Also experimenting with baby led weaning a bit too. Milestones-
6 Months Postpartum- Things for me have been going great. I am so thankful I had a doctor's appointment and figured out my thyroid meds. I am now on the correct dosage and feel so much better. That crazy anxiety that I was experiencing has seemed to fizzle out (Don't get me wrong as a Mama of 3...I have my days) but I don't feel anywhere as I felt 2 months ago. PTL. I have started going to Yoga...and I Love it. Totally up my alley and I am not sure why I didn't try it out years ago. Love it!!!! I cannot believe what a workout I get from it as well. I seemed to have lost a couple pounds since starting it. Now I can start focusing on good nutrition and I will be in business. So nice to get rid of that yucky anxiety & stress though so I could see clearly and start focusing on healthy decisions...whether that be physically or mentally. I am starting to do some projects for my home and gonna be working on some halloween/fall crafts with the boys for the house as well. I have also started some Christmas knitting for my nieces and for my boys as well. Isaiah had his first day of preschool on Thursday (let me tell you that last week was so emotional for me) I can't even wrap my mind around how fast time is going. It wasn't long ago I was doing updates on him as a tiny little dude. Crazy. But I am so excited for this next stage in our life. So many awesome and wonderful positive things to focus on. Until next time. Thanks for reading! ...following my dreams...
