Anders turned 8 Months Old yesterday. It's actually insane how fast the time is flying by. This little boy is my world, he brings so much joy into our lives. Yesterday we had a Family Day so he got to experience his very first time going out with us to get our Christmas tree. Of course he just chilled out in the car seat while we drove around to find the perfect tree. He did so good. Seriously friends...he is such a good baby. So easy going and just full of happiness most of the time <3 On to the update. At 8 Months Old.... Weight- 16lbs (Yay he's gained weight!!!!) Sizes- He wears 12 Month clothes and is still in size 4 diapers. I've noticed he is leaning out a lot which is to be expected judging my the size of his brothers. Routine- We are still trying to figure out a routine that works for us. Since Isaiah has started preschool we are still trying to figure out a nap routine that works for Anders. I've tried a couple different things these last couple of weeks. 6:30- He wakes up and talks to himself in his crib until I go get him (he always wakes up happy) I then nurse him, change him and give him some fruit and cheerios or toast. 9:15am- He takes his first nap (this is where we run into a problem because he is ready for this nap around 8am...but we can't let him go down since I have to drive Isaiah to preschool. Sometimes Anders falls asleep on the way to school...and I've tried a couple times of waking him up when we get home (around 9:15) nursing him and then putting him back to sleep. This seems to be what works best for him. 10:55am- I wake him up from his first nap to go and get Isaiah from school. I nurse him when we get home and then feed him some type of baby puree or a muffin. 12:30/1pm- He goes for his second nap. I nurse him when he wakes up and then give him a little snack (puffs, cheerios, an arrowroot, fruit or his leftover muffin) He pretty much just hangs out with us, we play with him, practice sitting & standing, he jumps in his jumper, rolls around the living room. 6:30 he is ready for bed. I usually give him some more purees at this point and then let him play for a few more minutes while we sometimes read to the boys. Then I nurse him and put him to bed...he is going through a phase right now that he will only fall asleep (without crying for a half an hour) on our bed. Then when he is asleep we move him into his crib. I'll keep trying every night to fall asleep in his bed first...but usually cave and move him onto our bed (mostly because the boys bedroom share and Jens needs to go to sleep around 6:30/7 as well) Everything is a learning curve. We'll get it eventually. It will take time to learn this ;) Anders sleeps all night (except for last night when he woke up to nurse at 4:30am...then went right back to sleep) that never happens FYI. greatest baby ever. Sleeping- As I stated in the routine. We are still learning his nap schedule (he should technically have 3 naps...which he get's to have when Isaiah doesn't have school) Also learning his bedtime schedule. But when he falls asleep he is amazing. He loves his sleep. He does still have to CIO to fall asleep, but I know that that is just his way of doing things. It broke my heart for the first couple months of him doing that...I'd just want to go get him and try and rock him. Believe me...I've tried to do that...it ends up being stressful on both of us and I found it's so much better for everyone if I just let him CIO. He falls asleep after 5-15 minutes. Eating- I am still breastfeeding him and he loves to nurse :) So happy with this experience! But this baby LOVES food. He loves to nurse, he loves to eat solids. We mostly do puree's although we are starting to introduce him to finger foods now (as long as they are soft enough for him to gum) He does have 2 little teeth now but still has to gum everything he eats. I give him foods like grilled cheese, toast with butter, muffins, pears, banana's, we've tried a few tastes of greek yogurt. We've also tried some small pieces of meats and eggs and rice...but learned he is not ready for that as he just gags :( which is NOT fun to see....so we'll wait a bit longer for that. Milestones-
8 Months Postpartum- I am doing awesome :) Things are going really good for me. I feel like my body is going back to normal. I haven't really lost much weight so that is something that I find a bit stressful, but I do know that it is not gonna come off on it's own. Now I know what they mean about saying it get's harder the more kids you have and the older you get. But I can feel the motivation flowing through my body and hope that I can develop some good routines for myself in the next months to come. My Sister is getting married in the summer so I have goals I'd like to reach for that special day! But all in good time. I am honestly just so happy where I am at right now...and I think that is the first...most difficult to learn. To Love yourself...whatever stage. I Love my life, I love my Husband, I love my boys, I Love my family & friends...I am just so incredibly blessed with everything around me...and I feel so content with having me realize that those things are the only things in life that matter ...following my dreams...
