Hello there! Well Little Anders is already 1 Month (He turned 1 Month Old on the 28th) so I thought I should get this update finished and posted. The first couple of weeks with a newborn just flies by! It's not fair. Time goes way to fast, so I have done nothing but just enjoy the ride. Anders is most likely our last baby. So I am soaking up every little moment with him! We are in the works of getting his nursery all set up and decorated so that he can start sleeping in there at night. I am trying to put him for naps in his crib when I can so he can get used to it. I am stalling though as I am finding it hard to put him in his own room and not have him in ours. He is just such a good baby...but it has to be done and he is ready. At 1 Month Old..... Weight & Length- 9lbs and he is approximately 23-24inches long Sizes- He is has grown out of Newborn size clothes and is wearing 0-3 Month clothes now...but I don't imagine that will be for very long. He wears Size 1 diapers (just grew out of newborn at about 4 weeks) He is still wearing the newborn size for cloth diapers. Routine- Well there still really isn't much of a routine (I am trying really hard for us to get into one but everyday is different at this point) I am really hoping we can get into one in the next couple of weeks...even waking up and going to bed at the same time every day would be a good start. He nurses every 2-3 hours during the day and goes right to sleep after nursing. Sometimes he has a bit of awake time before he goes back to sleep. He sleeps for about 1.5-2.5 hour stretches. I've done Mama/Baby Yoga with him once now and would really love to make this our night routine. I want to start building a nighttime routine that will work for us. My ideas look like...Mama/Baby Yoga, Read to him, Bath time, Snuggle time, Sing to him, Pray with him, Nurse... Sleeping- I usually nurse him, then change him and get him in his jammies, swaddle him, nurse him and put him in his cradle. He sleeps for about 2.5-3 hours, nurses and goes back down for 2.5-3 hours. He's so good! Eating- He is exclusively Breastfed. He loves to nurse. Milestones- He's definitely reaching most milestones (according to babycentre)
1 Month Postpartum- I feel amazing. My recover has been a dream, no complications, and I healed up very fast...the afterpains were even manageable this time. Nursing has been on my side this time around as well...with the recover and with the initial weight loss period. I have gone from about 185lbs (at 38 weeks pregnant) to 171lbs 1 Month pp. I feel great! I've been on a couple walks now (definitely want to do more now) and I have been venturing out with all 3 boys a fair bit more. There have definitely been some harder days with the 3 boys now...but I am learning that I need to just be there for them...and not worry so much about my cleaning being on hold. This is something that is hard for me as I get super stressed when things are out of order. But these babies are only babies for so long and I am learning that that is more important than daily chores. I am learning that my house is going to have dirty dishes, laundry (mountains), and toys scattered at all times. Let it go Cynthia...let it go! I am taking babysteps though to start getting things more organized but just doing it at a very slow pace :) I've signed up for my first outdoor bootcamp (which starts next Tuesday, May 12th). Perfect timing as it will be 6 Weeks since I've had Anders by then. I will ease into it and go at my own pace. But I am super excited because that will really encourage me to follow through on a healthier lifestyle! All in all I feel amazing and couldn't have asked for a better recover <3 ...following my dreams...
-Cynthia
